The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) is the leading association for the global information technology (IT) industry. They work to promote investment and innovation, market access, robust cybersecurity solutions, commonsense privacy policies, streamlined procurement, and a skilled IT workforce.
Their Advocacy organization includes a Customs Committee consisting of 280 compliance and policy professionals. The Customs Committee has working groups for classification, rules of origin, valuation, international regulations and compliance best practices. Their Export Controls Committee includes over 330 professionals and has working groups for cloud computing, encryption, enforcement, ITAR, and high performance computing.
CompTIA follows customs and export laws and regulations in Washington and major trading partner countries and presses for action on the issues that are most critical to their members. They also assist members in developing a strong global trade compliance program and organization. Their annual global trade compliance best practices conference has been rated best in class by attendees.
