Due Diligence in 2023 - Intended for Experienced Professionals
Co-hosted by PAEI and WIT-NC
Nov 8, 2023
Registration opens soon
WIT-NC and PAEI are hosting an extended program focusing on benchmarking and sharing best practices on how companies face the challenges screening for forced labor, embargoed destinations and restricted parties to comply with CBP, BIS and OFAC regulations.
Given all of the recent enforcement actions by BIS and OFAC and the uptick in withhold release orders from CBP, it is becoming critical for companies to have a robust due diligence program that goes beyond simple screening. More and more, government agencies are requiring companies to truly know their partners and customers and understand not only ownership, but supply chains and indirect financing.
The program will consist of panel discussions by Industry experts, along with a meal and an opportunity for networking with the presenters and attendees. The total length of the program will be ~6 hours. This is an opportunity to participate in local, practical training and have a chance to speak one on one with experts in the field.
The proposed topics are:
-
What does due diligence look like in 2023? Overview and applicable regulations from OFAC, BIS and CBP.
- OFAC regulations - Meeting the challenge of the 50% rule and exploring indirect ownership patterns.
- BIS regulations - End-use restrictions, Entity and Military End User lists.
- CBP regulations - Withhold release orders, supply chain due diligence
- Putting it all together - how to design a due diligence program to cover all of your company’s needs.
