Thank You to our Presenters and Guests
Thank you to John McKenzie, Jon Cowley and Ivy Tan of Baker McKenzie for presenting at WIT-NC's Chinese New Year Celebration last month. Their insights on cyber-security, encryption and increased restriction in China, and APAC Export control updates were timely and informative. Kudos to Jade Gardens Chinese Restaurant for a delicious dinner. Visit our Facebook page for photos.

OWIT News & Events from the Mothership
OWIT International is keeping its members global members informed year-round with live-streamed webinars. In February, Barbara Mowat presented Learning From Failure. She encouraged considering failure as a stepping stone to success for women in international trade. If you missed the event you can still access the webinar.

Membership Benefits
An important benefit of WIT-NC membership is "Networking". At each of our events, we have a lot of time to mingle with other attendees. Meeting trade compliance professionals from your own industry is a great way to ask questions, get solutions, and share best practices. Many of our members have attested that they have found their next job opportunity through connections they made at WIT events.

Here is what WIT-NC member, Keldyn West (CISCO) had to say on the benefits of WIT-NC membership.

"I enjoy WIT-NC because, in addition to meeting interesting people at the meetings, I also learn about new aspects of international trade from speakers, who often provide fascinating insight into the wider world of international policies and issues. I am also inspired by WIT members who use their background in international trade to influence social justice issues."
