WIT-NC Accepting OWIT's "Chapter AND Women of the Year" Awards in Nairobi!
Leslie August attended the OWIT Conference in Nairobi where she represented WIT-NC, which won OWIT Chapter of the Year! Additionally, Leslie accepted the OWI Women of the Year award on behalf of herself and Vicki Wilkerson. The conference spanned three days of capacity building, networking, award presentations, new chapter induction and discussion on the future of trade. Leslie was also able to take part in a Safari excursion around Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve. Welcome back and congratulations!

Annual Holiday Celebration
This year's holiday event will feature John McPeak of BioMarin who will share how his Global Trade expertise gets needed drugs shipped and through customs to treat very ill children worldwide. This is a heartwarming, passionate story highlighting how Global Trade helps families in the worst of times. Instead of raffle gifts this year, we will be raising money for charity featuring a "trade compliance" game.

We will also host our annual Family Giving Tree tradition where we have a chance to give back to the community. This occasion is our opportunity to provide holiday cheer to local kids and elderly requiring our generosity by providing gifts and other necessitates that are always needed during this time of the year. WIT-NC encourages you to reach out and select a gift for a local youth or elder and show your holiday spirit. Please use this link to sign-up for a gift donation that will be collected at the December 12 event. All gifts collected at the event will be transported to Family Giving Tree collection center and then distributed to children throughout the area. If you are not able to attend the event, please contact the WIT board at info@wit-nc.com and we will help with other arrangements.
