Please join us for this special extended program on June 13! 8 Topics, Choose Your Top Three, Roundtables Lead by Subject Matter Experts. Following the round table sessions, we will host a networking event with wine and dinner where our subject matter experts will share key takeaways from the table discussions with the entire group.

Tianna Umann, a Blockchain Solutions Architect for Microsoft, and Gaurav Malhotra, a Partner & Principal at EY specializing in Digital and Emerging Technology, presented a timely discussion on Blockchain's application to global trade compliance and supply chain management at our May event. We truly appreciate their presentation which was both engaging and useful to our members based on the positive survey responses. Thank you!

WIT-NC Board Member Sumika Kawamura joined students from Cal Maritime on an educational trip to Japan that included visits to the Tokyo University of Maritime and Technology and the Marine Defense Force Museum in Kure. Please see photos from this trip on our Facebook page!

June Roundtable: We need for volunteers for our June Round table event! This co-sponsored WIT-NC / PAEI event is going to be different and exciting to participate in. Please contact Sumika Kawamura or Ellen Palmer, Volunteer Directors, if you are interested in helping out.

The Membership Committee needs two volunteers to assist us with:

  • Strategizing and implementing suggestions to help grow our current membership;
  • Attending our monthly compliance education events to greet new members and give them a welcome packet;
  • Identifying non-members at events and sharing the benefits of becoming a member; and
  • Assisting with our annual Membership drives and phone campaigns to reach out to trade compliance personnel in the Bay Area.
  • The time involvement is 1-2 hours per week
  • The ideal candidate(s) would be energetic students or professionals in international trade who are eager to expand their network among Bay Area trade compliance professionals.

The Marketing Committee needs one to two volunteers to assist us with:

  • Supporting our social media, including posting updates to LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, as well as offering suggestions for keeping our social media pages fresh and engaging.
  • Helping to maintain the marketing the schedule for sending out newsletters, eBlasts and other promotional materials.
  • The time involvement is about 1 hour per week.
