Chairman and OWIT Rep: Vicki Wilkerson, Salesforce
Viki Wilkerson
Currently, Vicki serves as Director of Global Trade Programs at Salesforce and has been managing and directing International Trade Compliance programs since 1993. She first began at a small publicly-held company named SynOptics Communications which was later merged with an east coast router technology company named Wellfleet to become Bay Networks. Bay Networks was later acquired by Northern Telecom to become Nortel Networks. Subsequent to Nortel, she managed and directed compliance programs at Hewlett Packard, British Telecom, SAP AG and Fortinet. Much of Vicki's work relates to export controls for encryption-related technology. She has also developed and managed trade programs to address compliance requirements for multi-national companies as well as compliance with global free trade agreements as well as public policy development. She enjoys the challenge of keeping pace with technological innovations.


President: Leslie Levy August, Boomerang Carnets
Leslie Levy August
Leslie has served on the WIT-NC Board of Directors for the past year in the role of President. This service to WIT-NC has served to increase her appreciation for the dedication and commitment to trade education that her fellow board members share and her appetite to continue to serve the organization in a Board role in 2018. She is honored to be continue serving as President in 2018 and is committed to fulfilling WIT-NC’s mission and objectives and to serving the membership. Leslie has more than 25 years of experience in international trade with a specialty in temporary exports. She is a co-owner of Corporation for International Business aka boomerang carnets which provides over 8000 temporary export documents to US & UK exporters annually. As an evangelist for ATA Carnets, Ms. August provides ATA Carnet training for US organizations involved in international trade, helping them avoid payment of duties and taxes on temporary imports.


Vice President: Jessica Latham, KPMG
Jessica Latham
Jessica is a Manager in the Trade & Customs practice at KPMG, where she utilizes her extensive experience in the trade compliance field as both a consultant and as in-house compliance counsel. She has represented a wide range of companies in connection with trade sanctions and led internal investigations and compliance audits regarding potential violations of trade sanctions administered by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control and the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security. Jessica received her juris doctorate from UCLA School of Law and is admitted to practice in California. She has served on the WIT-NC Board of Directors for the past three years and is happy to continue her service as WIT-NC’s Vice President.


Assistant Vice-President: Janice Whitaker, Teledyne Technologies
Janice Whitaker
Janice has been in the trade, customs and logistics field for over 20 years, starting with several logistics carriers and then transitioning into global trade with various high technology companies. She was an Export Administrator with Intel in Santa Clara, CA for seven years before moving to Raytheon in Denver, CO. At Raytheon, she managed increasingly complex Defense and Cyber Security export programs at sites and teams across the United States and was promoted to Senior Manager within the Space and Airborne Systems Division at El Segundo, CA. Her eleven and half years at Raytheon was especially stimulating as she met the challenges of their two Consent Agreements with DDTC. During her time in Southern California, Janice served on the WIT Board in the Secretary role. She relocated to Northern California as a Senior Manager with Teledyne Technologies, managing Global Trade at four international sites in the UK and Australia, three Bay Area sites, and two on the East Coast. She leads the development, management and oversight activities related to a variety of global trade controls for commercial and defense programs to include export/import compliance and licensing, integrating international regulatory requirements with operational business processes, and implementation of effective assessment methods to assure compliance in executing global business activities. Janice is a nominee for the US Commercial Service District Export Council, is a Licensed Customs Broker and a Vice-Chair with her local League of Women Voters chapter. She is looking forward to serving on the WIT-NC Board as Assistant Vice-President.


Secretary: Lisa Perez, Western Digital
Lisa Perez
Lisa Perez is an experienced trade compliance professional who has worked as a program manager at numerous Silicon Valley companies and has been a long-time member and volunteer for WIT-NC. She is excited about the opportunity to serve as a Board Member in the Secretary role. Currently, Lisa is working at Western Digital Corporation.

Lisa enjoys travelling and has been to all 7 continents and over 35 countries. She also volunteers at church and has taught Religious Education for 10 years.


Assistant Secretary: Ann McGrath, Globalfoundries
Ann McGrath
Ann is currently a Global Trade Compliance Manager & Counsel at GLOBALFOUNDRIES (a semiconductor manufacturer) in New York. She is responsible for managing the US import and export compliance teams, advising on trade compliance issues related to contracts globally, and providing guidance on numerous US and non-US trade laws, regulations and customs. She previously worked in the trade compliance group at NetApp, in Sunnyvale, CA.

Ann is active in the trade community, serving on the Board of Directors of WIT-NC for her fourth year, and the ABA Customs Law and Export Controls and Economic Sanctions Committees (as a member and contributing author).


Treasurer: Tobias Andersson, NetApp
Tobias Andersson
Currently located in the Bay Area, Tobias is Global Trade Compliance’s principal liaison with the NetApp IT community and the global trade management software vendor. He is responsible for collecting compliance data in order to define and create performance metrics. He has been a part of the Global Trade Compliance team since 2013 first with responsibility for managing export licensing of products and technical data, accomplishing all customer/transaction screenings such as restricted party list reviews, managing export/import compliance awareness training and maintaining other compliance procedures in the EMEA region. Prior to that time, he served in various positions with Expeditors International where he was responsible for Responsible for implementing and developing a cross product compliance program focusing on auditing, data analysis and improved reporting structures. Specialized in Export Controls, Simplified Procedures and Transit Movements. Tobias is also IATA Dangerous Goods Certified.


Assistant Treasurer: Chester Chu, Veritas Technologies LLC.
Chester Chu
Chester Chu is a Trade Compliance Analyst at Veritas Technologies LLC. He specializes in export compliance operations. Prior to trade compliance, he has over 10 years of experience in Import/Export Trade and 3PL Logistics.

Chester graduated from San Jose State University in Computer Science and is a licensed U.S. Customs Broker. Outside of work, he is a big fan of Golden States Warriors and has been volunteering at WIT-NC for the past year.

I look forward to working with the wonderful board member team in 2018.


Programs Director: Ava Zhou, Flex
Ava ZhouAva is the Global Trade Manager at Flex. She has been working as an international Trade professional for more than 11 years, specialized in internal import and export compliance audit and management, trade process optimization, training and automation tools development.

Ava holds a bachelor’s degree and is a certified member of PMI (Project Management Institute).



Marketing Director: Amy Papendorf, Ernst & Young (EY)
Amy PapendorfAmy E. Papendorf is a Senior Manager in EY’s Global Trade practice in San Francisco. She counsels businesses on a wide variety of trade compliance issues, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), sanctions regulations administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Amy has broad based industry experience, including over 10 years in the defense and aerospace sector.

In addition to her export experience, Amy is also a licensed attorney and a Customs Broker who has advised clients on duty reduction strategies, supply chain planning, and assisting with Customs audit and planning programs.

She recently returned to the West (Best) Coast after 18 years in Philadelphia and in her spare time enjoys running, hiking, rock climbing and traveling to countries that require malaria prophylactics.


Marketing Assistant Director: Diana Lee, Google
Diana LeeDiana, formerly with Gap, Inc., is a Compliance Specialist for the legal department at Google. She is a graduate from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (M.A. Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies), and served as a Marketing Intern and a volunteer for the Events Coordination Committee with WIT-NC since 2015. Diana is looking forward to her second term on the WIT-NC board!



Membership Director: Deep SenGupta, DSG Global
Deeo SenGupta
Deep SenGupta is the Founder & CEO of DSG Global, LLC (, whose mission is to provide international trade compliance services & education to importers and exporters based in the San Francisco Bay Area.>

Prior to DSG Global, Deep was the head of FedEx's international trade consulting group where he had a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity of assisting over 1000+ companies with their global trade challenges. Prior to joining FedEx, Deep helped develop KPMG’s Tax & International Trade practice in South Asia.

Deep learnt the meaning of “globalization” early, since he spent his childhood in United Kingdom, Canada and India. Deep obtained his initial legal education in India (BA and LLB), arrived in the USA for his Masters in Law-Taxation (LL.M) from the University of Washington and received executive education on International Trade from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

As a core-value, Deep believes in giving back to the community. He is deeply engaged on a “pro bono” basis with a range of professional organizations and charitable organizations.

Deep has been privileged to assist both the US Government agencies involved in Imports and Exports, as an industry expert. He serves on the President’s Export Council Subcommittee on Export Administration (PECSEA) to advise the Obama administration on its export control reform efforts (2011-2016). He has also assisted the CBP’s COAC working group on modifications to the focused assessment program (2013-2014). Deep was also appointed by 3 consecutive Commerce Secretaries to the District Export Council of Northern California (2006-2016), where he serves as the current Chair.

When Deep is not wearing his “trade compliance” hat or running after his 5-year old daughter, he is a news-buff, lives for travel, enjoys theatre, play tennis every chance he gets and longingly looks at his guitars that are gathering dust!


Membership Assistant Director: Ngoc Lewis, DSG Global, LLC
Ngoc LewisNgoc Lewis has been a WIT-NC member since 2006. She is the Director of Trade Compliance Services with DSG Global, LLC ( a consulting firm providing international trade compliance & training solutions to San Francisco Bay Area companies. She is an experienced trade compliance professional and a licensed customs broker. Prior to joining the DSG Global in 2018, Ngoc worked for TradeBeam (now Aptean), Global Trade Management software and services company.

Through WIT-NC's seminars and its annual OWIT World Conference, Ngoc has learned about the trade issues that are most important to her members, increased her own knowledge, and extended her professional relationships with trade compliance professionals. WIT-NC has been an amazing organization for her career development.

In her free time, Ngoc enjoys catching up with family and friends, trying out new recipes and exploring a new town with her husband and two young girls.


Endowment Director: Michael Schwartzberg, JUUL Labs
Michael Schwartzberg
Michael Schwartzberg is a federally licensed United States Customs House Broker with over 20 years of experience in managing and directing global trade compliance in areas of strategic planning‚ operations and risk mitigation. Michael is Director of Global Trade Compliance at Supermicro, Inc. As the senior management level person responsible for Supermicro’s trade compliance efforts Michael is tasked with building the trade department while driving trade regulation compliance‚ business programs‚ export licensing‚ global import/export coding‚ auditing‚ and import/export compliance oversight on a global basis. Michael has a successful history of building programs to address complex global trade risk, planning functions, directing consistent processes, strategic program development, and flows of the business while leading companies in global trade operations. Michael has held senior level trade compliance positions in a variety of industries including: microelectronics‚ software, telecommunications‚ automotive parts‚ and apparel. Michael is a graduate of the University Texas-El Paso and holds a Masters in Business Administration degree from Sul Ross State University in International Trade


Event Coordinator: Sisifo Tuiloma, Flex
Sisifo Tuiloma
Sisifo has been involved in global trade compliance since 1998 where she was import coordinator for Orchard Supply Hardware. Since that time she has held numerous roles managing import and export functions for companies such as GE, IBM, Trimble Navigation and Verizon. Since 2012, Sisifo has been Global Trade Compliance/Classification Analyst for Flextronics (FLEX) where she is responsible for U.S. and Canadian classifications ensuring legal compliance within government rules and regulations pertaining to classification.



Volunteer Director: Sumika Kawamura
Sumika Kawamura
Sumika’s career began when she assisted handling disputes between the governments and the importers at SGS, a Swiss company in Japan that practiced pre-shipment inspections. After completing her degree in International Relations, she worked at FedEx-WorldTariff in San Francisco as a Customs Tariff Data Manager, closely monitoring up-to-date duties, taxes and compliance data for multiple countries in Asia. Most recently at TradeBeam-Aptean, she had various roles, such as project management for an automotive manufacturer, sanctions and denied parties screening, and content update for a trade automation software. She believes that learning global trade is learning life. By studying global trade, she has learned so much about what’s happening around the world - politics, economies, cultures, people, food, anything.

Sumika holds Japanese Customs Brokers’ license. She continues to thrive in her second year as WIT-NC's Volunteer Director. She is certain that she can further explore the world of international trade. WIT is a community where she has enjoyed meeting many well-educated people with various backgrounds and learned trade compliance in wide range of subjects.


Volunteer Assistant Director: Ellen Palmer, Artech Information Systems
Ellen Palmer
Ellen is an Operations Manager for Artech Information Systems on staff at Google. She provides import shipment metric analysis as well as managing other supply chain related projects for Google's Hardware Planning & Fulfillment Team. She holds a customs broker license since 1994 and graduated in 1992 from The Ohio State University with a masters in international business with a focus on pacific rim trade. Ellen has participated in other Bay Area industry groups including The Pacific Transportation Association, Women in Logistics and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. Ellen is looking forward to her first term on the WIT-NC Board.

Sumika Kawamura
Christabelle Bishman is a Trade Management Executive at Livingston International, providing customized supply chain solutions to Bay Area companies with an emphasis on international trade compliance. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she is an international Business graduate of Wheaton College (IL) and fluent in Chinese. Most recently, Christabelle passed the October 2017 U.S. Customs Broker License examination.

In her spare time, Christabelle enjoys international travel to experience new cultures. When at home, you can find her exploring new restaurants or keeping active in the outdoors. Christabelle looks forward to continue serving as WIT-NC’s Sponsorship Director!
