Jane Solomon
Jane Solomon – Corporate Trade Compliance Manager, Anritsu Company
Responsible for Export and Customs compliance for the Americas regional area. Ms. Solomon began her compliance career with Wiltron Company, later acquired by Anritsu Corporation in Japan, in 1989. Quickly moving from her original position into the compliance area she assumed the position of Export Control and Customs Administrator. Promoted again in 1994 to Export Control Manager, she was responsible for oversight of Anritsu’s Distribution License and later their Special Comprehensive License with consignees worldwide and all areas of export and import compliance. In 1995 Ms. Solomon became Corporate Trade Compliance Manager continuing to oversee the America’s region and is responsible for all export and customs compliance processes for all offices in the United States, Canada, Latin and South America. In addition to this, on a Global basis, Ms. Solomon created Anritsu’s worldwide global organization that develops and is responsible for internal policy and procedures that assures global company adherence to multi country export regulations. Jane has served on the WIT-NC Board for 2 years as secretary, 2 years as President, and now Chairwoman.

Vicki Wilkerson
Vicki Wilkerson, Compliance Officer, Fortinet
I have been managing and directing International Trade Compliance programs since 1993. I first began at a small publicly-held company named SynOptics Communications which was later merged with an east coast router technology company named Wellfleet to become Bay Networks. Bay Networks was later acquired by Northern Telecom to become Nortel Networks. Subsequent to Nortel, I managed compliance programs at Hewlett Packard, British Telecom and later SAP AG. I have developed and managed trade programs to address compliance requirements associated with free trade agreements such as NAFTA, USIFTA and BAA. Much of the work I have performed relates to export controls for encryption-related technology. I enjoy the challenge of keeping pace with technological innovations.

Shay O'Reilly
Shay O'Reilly, Customs Compliance Manager, Williams-Sonoma Inc.
My name is Shay O'Reilly and I manage Trade Compliance for Williams-Sonoma Inc. At WSI, I regularly participate in a variety of import and export compliance functions. In my current role, I am engaged in: US ,Canadian and Australian import systems management, tariff classification, AD/CV scope ruling requests, CBP binding ruling requests, analysis / eligibility of Free Trade Agreements, and broker management. I am native to California, enjoy classical cello, sailing and photography. Along with the challenges and rewards, I appreciate WIT-NC for providing me the opportunity to interact with a large pool of like minded professionals. My prior involvement with WIT-NC was as Assistant Membership Director.

John Kirk
John Kirk - John is currently a Masters of International Studies candidate specializing in Trade at the Monterey Institute for International Studies. Before beginning his studies at the Monterey Institute, John was the North America Account Manager for Chevron Oronite, one of Chevron’s chemical subsidiaries, based in San Ramon California. John moved to California from Toronto where he served as Chevron Global Lubricant’s Supply Chain Manager for Canada. Prior to joining Chevron, John ran the Canadian business of Battenfeld Grease a private label lubricants manufacturer, also in Toronto. John also served as Battenfeld’s Corporate Purchasing Manager in Buffalo, New York. John began his career as an accountant/auditor for the Buffalo based Delaware North Companies. John has served on the Board of Directors and as President of the Petroleum Packaging Council (PPC) and on the Board and as Chairman of the Toronto Section of the Society of Tribologists and Lubricating Engineers (STLE). John’s previous role with WIT-NC was as Co-Assistant Treasurer, John has an MBA from the University of Buffalo and is a CPA.

Todd Kastan
Todd Kastan, Todd Kastan, Sr. Compliance Auditor at Genentech, Inc.
A licensed customs broker since 1991, Todd is a veteran of over 30 years of experience in Regulatory Compliance and International Logistics. Todd is currently a Sr. Compliance Auditor at Genentech, responsible for import operational activities as well as special projects related to Genentech's participation in CBP's ISA program. Before his current position, he has been employed by several concerns in the Bay Area; as a Sr. Customs Analyst with Varian Medical Systems, at Nvidia Corporation as the U.S. Import Program Manager, where he managed all aspects of the company's import compliance program, and at Hewlett Packard, where he was a Regulatory Compliance Manager responsible for product classification. Previously, he has also held analyst roles for Adaptec, Inc. and Fujitsu Microelectronics, as well as working as a licensed customs broker for Radix Group International, MSAS Cargo International and Air Express International

Carol Shields
Carol Shields, Import Export Compliance Analyst, SanDisk
Carol Shields was a Trade Specialist consultant at SanDisk from June 2009 through July 2010. Now she is a full-time employee as Staff Import/Export Compliance Analyst in the Global Trade Complance Group at SanDisk Corporation. Her role includes import classifications, China/Hong Kong import requirements, export classifications, encryption Agreement and Project reviews, training. In addition to research projects, Carol has responsibility for the development and execution of corporate export compliance policies and guidelines to ensure that SanDisk's global export operations are compliant with U.S. and international trade laws. She has served as International Committee Chairman, American Electronics Association.

Darko Neuschul
Darko Neuschul, Senior Manager in the San Francisco office of Ernst & Young’s Customs and International Trade practice.
Before returning to Ernst & Young in 2011, Darko was a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s Customs practice. Before that, Darko was a Manager in Deloitte’s Central European Indirect Tax practice, and also leading the tax function of Deloitte in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Darko is a customs and global trade specialist with thirteen years of experience in logistics, customs compliance, and international trade consulting. He advises clients in customs planning and compliance, foreign trade zone implementations, custom classification, origin and valuation rules, as well as performing internal audits and compliance reviews of import and export functions. Darko has significant experience in improving and strengthening a company’s overall customs function. He has assisted clients in managing projects designed to improve clients’ overall compliance with custom’s rules and regulations. Examples of projects include project management for a large-scale, global prior disclosure and data mining project for a semiconductor manufacturer, managing transactional and documentary reviews, import / export process reviews, and identification of areas of risk exposure, the completion of policies and procedures manuals, and on-site customs and compliance training. Darko has participated in systems integration projects in the area of international trade. He has worked with clients to define business and systems functional requirements, generate process maps and flows for such functions, and evaluate available software packages meeting the client’s needs for trade data and export controls compliance management. Darko has participated in feasibility assessments, preparation, submission, and activation of foreign trade zone (“FTZ”) applications for a number of companies, including those in the industrial tools and equipment, apparel, and fashion accessories industries. Darko has also worked with FTZ operators in designing and implementing procedures in line with Customs requirements. Darko is a graduate of Southern Methodist University (B.B.A). Darko obtained his U.S. Customs Broker license in 2002.

Jane WatkinsJane Watkins
Jane is a veteran with almost 30 years of experience in the field of regulatory and export compliance. Previously, she held export licensing, classification and compliance positions at Varian Associates, Inc., Varian Inc. and Applied Materials, Inc. Her previous roles at WIT-NC included one year as Assistant Treasurer and two years as Treasurer. Jane is also active in Toastmasters International, having served as a past Area Governor, acting as a liaison between the district and local clubs.

Meredith Covey
Meredith Covey, Director of Customs Operations and Compliance, Williams-Sonoma, Inc
A native of the San Francisco bay area, Meredith comes to customs trade from an accounting background, where she developed her skills as an auditor. Now a licensed customs broker with over 20 years experience in international trade, she is recognized for her ability to build highly compliant organizations. She has extensive experience in the regulations of textiles, food and other trade sensitive products. She has worked closely with US Customs and numerous industry leaders, including Esprit De Corp, Gap, Inc., and Williams-Sonoma in establishing and maintaining sound customs compliance practices among some of the country’s largest importers. Meredith is an accomplished speaker on international trade compliance and is often invited to speak at local and national trade conferences. She is currently Director of Customs Operations and Compliance for Williams-Sonoma, Inc and a member of Women in International Trade – Northern California and ICPA – International Compliance Professionals Association.

Jennifer Eldefonso, Director of Global Trade, Akon Inc.
Current company - Akon Inc., which is a Military Aerospace manufacturer in San Jose. Principal responsibilities - Director of Global Trade, import, export, and government contracting compliance and operations. Since our military sector is over 95% of the company product profile, ITAR and government compliance are my primary responsibilities. Professional Background – LCB & Certified Export Specialist, with over 30 years of logistics, import, export, government contracts compliance and operations experience. I have a varied background working for companies in multiple sectors such as: Varian, AMD, Xilinx, Intel, Applied Materials, UPS Trade Services, Lockheed, and others. Years with WIT – I’ve been active with WIT for over 30 years, since it was Delta Nu Alpha and I was nominated as their DNA student of the year! I was also active with the Silicon Valley World Trade Association (SCVWTA) with Alex and Tziana Bozinovich, and previously a Customs Compliance Chairperson for the American Electronics Association, which is now TechMart. I’m really a dinosaur! Overall, I feel it is important to give back to the community in all ways (personal and professional). I’m big into sharing knowledge, the reason we need to do what we need to do. I like to see the light of interest and connection click on into the other person’s eyes, especially if they choose to make it a career path for themselves. I am excited about what I do and I like others to relate to that.

Agnes Torteli
Agnes Torteli, Associate Manager, Global Trade Compliance at Symantec.
Agnes Torteli is an Associate Manager at Symantec, where she supports the Product Classification Group. Agnes has been working for Symantec for over 4 years, mainly supporting its Trade Compliance Operations group’s new hardware business. She has participated in implementing and managing Symantec’s new global hardware and software initiatives; specifically, for the US, Canada and Latin American countries with an export/import and Customs regulations perspective. Agnes is fluent in Hungarian and English. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from San Jose State University. She is attending WIT events since 2009.

Meri Zavorine
Meri Zavorine, Customs Regulatory Analyst URUSAN Consulting
Meri Zavorine is a customs regulatory analyst at URUSAN Consulting, advising leading technology companies on trade compliance in the Bay Area. Before URUSAN Consulting, she was a customs analyst at AMD for two years and a logistics analyst at National Semiconductor for 11 years. Meri is fluent in Russian and Latvian, and has served on the WIT-NC board as the event coordinator since 2008.

Jessica HillJessica Hill, Engagement Manager, EntryPoint Consulting
Jessica Hill is an Engagement Manager for EntryPoint Consulting, where she supports the Global Trade practice. Her responsibilities include gathering requirements from the clients' global trade practitioners, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing software to meet the clients' needs. Prior to EntryPoint, Jessica worked for Intel Corporation for 8 years supporting its IT/eBusiness group supporting the Global Tax and Trade group with their software automation. Jessica earned her Bachelor of Science in both Supply Chain Management and Marketing from Arizona State University. She has been attending WIT events since 2008.

Joni Seeber
Joni Seeber, International Carbon Exchange
Joni Seeber is in the startup phase of creating an International Carbon Exchange (ICE) application for the iPad and smart phones as well as web services dedicated to compliance, portfolio management and reporting on international carbon regulations and markets. Previously, Joni worked in the wine industry, developing export opportunities for California wineries. She also consults on new media marketing and project management strategy development. She earned her BA/MA combination in "International Policy and Management" from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and speaks Spanish, German and Italian in addition to her native English. Joni has been a member of the WIT-NC fundraising committee since 2010.
