Chairwoman and OWIT Representative
Beth Peterson, BPE
Beth Peterson is the President of Beth Peterson Enterprises, a consulting firm for global multi-national shippers and
transportation providers, specializing in global trade management and supply chain planning. Prior to founding Beth
Peterson Enterprises, Beth was Vice President of Marketing for Open Harbor where she was charged with leading the
company's marketing and solutions initiatives. Prior to Open Harbor, Beth served as the Vice President of Product
Strategy for Qiva, Inc. Prior to this, Peterson managed Hewlett Packard's U.S. import operations as the U.S. import
operations manager and DHL Airways, Inc. where she was a logistics services manager. Beth has over 20 years
experience in the logistics and international transportation business. She offers additional domain expertise as a
licensed customs broker. Beth served as Secretary and Webmaster for WIT-NC from 2000 to 2004, President of WIT-NC
from 2005 to 2009. Beth was awarded OWIT Member of the Year in 2006.
President
Jane Solomon - Trade Compliance Manager - Anritsu Company
Jane is responsible for Export and Customs compliance for the Americas regional area. Jane began her compliance
career with Wiltron Company, later acquired by Anritsu Corporation in Japan, in 1989. Quickly moving from her original
position into the compliance area she assumed the position of Export Control and Customs Administrator. Promoted
again in 1994 to Export Control Manager, she was responsible for oversight of Anritsu's Distribution License and later
their Special Comprehensive License with consignees worldwide and all areas of export. In 1995 Jane became Trade
Compliance Manager continuing to oversee the America's region and is responsible for all export and customs
compliance processes for all offices in the United States, Canada, Latin and South America. In addition to this, on a
Global basis, Ms. Solomon created Anritsu's worldwide global organization that develops and is responsible for internal
policy and procedures that assures global company adherence to multi country export regulations. Jane has served two
terms as Secretary to the WIT NC board. Jane also sits on the Executive Board of Community Solutions, a counseling
service organization that provides a comprehensive spectrum of prevention, intervention, treatment, and residential
services to the communities of South Santa Clara County, South San Jose and San Benito County.

Julie Gibbs - Senior Consultant - BPE, Inc.
Julie has been a licensed customs broker with CBP for over 10 years. Prior to joining BPE, Julie was Director of Product
Management and Professional Services at Ensenda, a carrier management and "last mile" logistics service provider. Her
responsibilities included defining the product strategy for Ensenda's web-based transportation products in addition to
implementation of all of Ensenda's customers. Julie has also worked as a Product Manager at Open Harbor and was
responsible for the design of the company's global trade management and customs clearance solutions, and has held
positions at the Gap, Qiva, and Hewlett Packard. During her eight year tenure at Hewlett-Packard, she managed several
Import Operations programs including Drawback and NAFTA. Julie holds an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University and a
B.A. in Business Economics from U.C. Santa Barbara.

Sanjana Khoobchandani - Manager- Deloitte Tax LLP – Global Trade Solutions Practice
Sanjana is a Manager in Deloitte's Global Trade Services practice, where she advises clients on a wide range of
international trade issues for both import and export compliance. Sanjana previously worked as an International Trade
Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce's (DOC) Office of NAFTA and Inter-American Affairs. She was the lead
DOC services, telecommunications, and e-commerce negotiator in regional and bilateral free trade agreements with
Latin America and the Caribbean. Sanjana also spent time working at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and
Development (OECD) in Paris, where she conducted research on the effects of global trade on emerging economies.
Sanjana earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The George Washington University and her Master
of International Affairs degree from Columbia University. She is a licensed U.S. Customs Broker. Sanjana spent two
years on WIT-NC's Endowment Committee and was the Endowment Director in 2009. She has served on the Board of
Directors for Indus Women Leaders San Francisco, and is actively involved in the Columbia Alumni Club of Northern
California and the American India Foundation.

Jane Watkins – Export Compliance Supervisor – Applied Materials, Inc.
Jane Watkins has been the Supervisor of Export Compliance at Applied Materials, Inc. for the past three years. Her
responsibilities include export operational and procedural development. Prior to joining Applied Materials, she was with
Varian, Inc. in the role of Manager, Corporate Export Compliance.

Carol Shields -Senior Export Compliance Professional - Independent
Carol Shields was the Senior Export Compliance Administrator at KLA-Tencor Corporation from 2006 through 2008. Her
role as export compliance administrator included responsibility for the development and execution of corporate export
compliance policies and management systems guidelines to ensure that KLA-Tencor's global export operations were
compliant with U.S. and international trade laws. She has served as International Committee Chairman, American
Electronics Association.

Winnie Luk, Senior Export Compliance Manager, Sun Microsystems
Winnie Luk is currently senior export compliance manager at Sun Microsystems where she has worked for the last 17
years. She manages product classification and technology licensing, specializing in encryption products, computer
systems and microprocessors. Prior to Sun, she has worked in a management consulting company, marketing research
in a commercial real estate company as well as taught political science at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and
Stanford University.

Jennifer Wade, Manager, Deloitte Tax LLP
Jennifer is a Manager in Deloitte Tax LLP's national Global Trade Solutions practice. Jennifer advises clients on
navigating the complex waters of international trade by leveraging her experience with functional and strategic design,
and implementation of global processes. This experience helps her not only advise clients on a wide range of import
and export technical matters but also to assist them in designing the optimal organizational structure, overall global
trade management strategy, and ensure effective implementation of processes globally leveraging automated
solutions where possible to maximize benefits and minimize costs. Jennifer joined the Global Trade Solutions practice
in 2008 from two of the largest, and most well respected high tech companies in the world. She has been active in the
trade community and with the larger OWIT community for ten years. She has previously held board positions with
OWIT-Colorado, OWIT-New York, and has served on the international board.

Rosalie Cmelak, Senior Manager, Oracle Corporation
Since 2004, Rosalie has been a Senior Manager in the Logistics Product Strategy group at Oracle Corporation. Rosalie is
specifically responsible for delivering the new Oracle Global Trade Management suite, which will eventually address all
aspects of Global Trade including Compliance, Customs, Landed Cost, Security, and Trade Finance. Prior to Oracle,
Rosalie served in various Marketing and Business Development roles at PeopleSoft, Varsity Logistics, and Capstan (now
part of TradeBeam). Rosalie is married and has three children—a boy (9), and two girls ages 7, and 4. Rosalie speaks
fluent Spanish, and loves to cycle, travel and cook.

Vicki Wilkerson, SAP
I have been involved in International Trade Compliance management since 1993. I first began at a small publicly-held
company named SynOptics Communications which was later merged with an east coast router technology company
named Wellfleet to become Bay Networks. Bay Networks was later acquired by Northern Telecom to become Nortel
Networks. Subsequent to Nortel, I have managed compliance programs at Hewlett Packard, British Telecom and
currently at SAP AG. I have developed and managed trade programs to address compliance requirements associated
with free trade agreements such as NAFTA, USIFTA and BAA. Much of the work I have performed relates to export
controls for encryption-related technology. I enjoy the challenge of keeping pace with technological innovations related
to computing.

Wendy Thompson, CDC TradeBeam
Wendy Thompson is the Director of Marketing for CDC TradeBeam. CDC TradeBeam, a Global Trade Management software and services company, streamlines global trading processes for enterprises and their partners. Wendy has over 20 years experience in the software industry, and prior to joining CDC TradeBeam, Wendy held marketing and product strategy positions at PeopleSoft, Oracle, and others. Wendy earned her MBA in Marketing from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Renee Roe, Renee Roe, Senior Consultant, BPE Inc.
Renee has 20+ years of international trade experience in Import, Export, Logistics and Compliance and a proven track record for developing and managing international trade across the supply chain as both an entrepreneur, and Fortune 100 management team member, and also has contributed to two successful IPO's in Silicon Valley.
Prior to joining BPE, Renee was a Global Trade & Compliance Officer for Fortinet, Inc. Her achievements included building the foundation for their compliance program, development of an EMCP manual, and process improvements such as trade automation integration, as well as participating in key activities leading to their recent Initial Public Offering. Prior to Fortinet, Renee was Global Trade & Compliance Manager at Extreme Networks, Inc. where she also oversaw development and execution of corporate trade compliance policies and guidelines. At Extreme she also held various positions in Operations during their start up phase, including Global Traffic & Logistics Manager. Earlier in her career she worked for United Parcel Service, the world's largest package delivery company and a leading global provider of specialized transportation and logistics services. Additionally, she held management positions in import, and import/export consulting and has also been a small international business owner. She has a degree in International Management, magna cum laude and has been involved with WIT-NC since 2003, first as a corporate member, then a WIT-NC Membership Committee member in 2004, and Co-Director of Membership 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Judit Tanai
Lam Research Corporation
Judit joined WIT-NC in March 2009 and served the organization as a Committee Member until the end of the year. Judit is currently Foreign Trade Analyst at Lam Research, a semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment manufacturer. Her professional experience also includes seven years in the marine fuel supply chain business and one year in logistics and import/export. At Chemoil Corporation, a San Francisco based premier marine fuel supplier, Judit successfully marketed and sold residual marine fuel oil to ocean-going vessels and managed complex customer relations with global shipping companies, trading houses, and brokerage firms. In April 2010, Judit passed the U.S. Customs Broker License exam. She continues her trade compliance studies through the IIEI, where she is currently working on her CUSECO certification. Judit earned both her Bachelor of Science and MBA degrees in International Business Management from San Francisco State University.

Corey McAveeney
- Trade Compliance Administrator -
KLA-Tencor Corporation
Corey is currently responsible for duty drawbacks and internal trade compliance auditing at KLA-Tencor. Before that, Corey was working with Deemed Exports as a contractor for Intel's Global Tax and Trade division. She obtained her Master's Degree in International Trade Policy from Monterey Institute of International Studies, focusing her studies on emerging markets. As Vice President of the Monterey Institute's International Trade and Commercial Diplomacy club, Corey was actively involved in organizing events such as conferences, panel discussions on the economic crisis, and career talks with trade professionals. She also worked as a Policy Analyst at the International Trade Centre (ITC) in Geneva for a summer. At ITC she gained great insight to the world of technical assistance, researching the negotiations during the Doha Round, writing about the effects of U.S. trade and energy policy on developing countries, and evaluating the national tax structures of several countries. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked in insurance brokerage. As an undergraduate at Fordham University, Corey earned her Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Comparative Literature and French Language and Literature. Corey has been attending WIT-NC events since 2007.

Eva Galfi - Manager- Customs
& Excise – PricewaterhouseCoopers
Eva Galfi is currently working in the Sydney, Australia office of PwC's Customs and Excise practice. Her current role
includes identification of duty mitigation and refund opportunities, conducting compliance assessments, and managing
multi-year projects designed to obtain duty concessions for clients in the resources sector. Prior to moving to Sydney in
August of 2008, Ms. Galfi worked for a competing "big four" as a trade compliance consultant in Silicon Valley, CA. She
has assisted several clients with drafting import, export and supply chain security compliance manuals and procedures,
conducted compliance audits and has also assisted companies in preparing for C-TPAT validation. Ms. Galfi was
awarded an MBA in International Business from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. An active member of
the trade community, Ms. Galfi is the former President and Chairwoman of the Organization of Women in International
Trade's San Diego Chapter and served as a VP on the OWIT International board. She has been a member of OWIT
since 1996 and involved with the Northern California Chapter off and on since 2001. Ms. Galfi is a licensed Customs
Broker and Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer.

Meri Zavorine - Customs Regulatory Analyst
URUSAN Consulting
Meri Zavorine is a customs regulatory analyst at URUSAN Consulting, advising leading technology companies on trade compliance in the Bay Area. Before URUSAN Consulting, she was a customs analyst at AMD for two years and a logistics analyst at National Semiconductor for 11 years. Meri is fluent in Russian and Latvian, and has served on the WIT-NC board as the event coordinator since 2008.
